John Atwood
A Chicago street photographer, John works mainly in black and white film but also in color slide film and 8mm video. First inspired by images his father made in Vietnam - and later by Kertez, Steiglitz, Bresson and by Frank, and painters such as Degas and Hopper - John focuses on human beings in relationship to constantly changing surroundings, and aims to show man in relation to his own nature and creations and how we all struggle to find a place.
